Color Play Friday: Backyard Sunset

Howdy Hon,

Halloween is over let the Christmas music begin.  LOL, I saw that on an Instagram post, or maybe it was Facebook.  Either way it was pretty accurate.  Of course I have been known to listen to Christmas music in July, I love it.  I can listen to it any time of the year.  But there is Thanksgiving to celebrate first.  We always have so much to be thankful for.  Like family, love, home, needs met, knowledge of Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for us, the ability to breath, walk and talk, the ability to learn and grow, employment and just being able to open your eyes each new day with the opportunity to be better than you were the day before.  So let's not get so wrapped up in the commercialism of Christmas that we forget Thanksgiving or the true reason we celebrate Christmas.

But let's talk color!  Color Play Friday was created by Lorinda over at Laurel, Poppy, and Pine and her good friend Trina over at In An Otter Life.  They opened it for others to join the fun every week and here I am today, A Color Play Friday Girl, teehee.  If you'd like to get more details on CPF and how you can join the fun please contact the ladies at colorplayfriday@gmail.com.  They'll give you all the details, including next week's photo.

This week's photo for Color Play Friday is:  Backyard Sunset

Like to know where these darling fabrics came from check at the links below:

I also loved this fabric, although I could not put it in the bundle.  I decided that for my imaginary quilt project it would make the perfect quilt backing with a cute little multicolored quilt label!

I found it here:

(which was great because at several places it was sold out, at some forever, WOW!)

Most of these in the bundle I loved, but I'm not sure about the black.  But I was tired from studying and doing Toastmaster reports, working my Primary Music stuff and then let's not forget my new role on the Nativity committee this year of coordinating the musical roster (for the past few years I have been host/hostess coordinator), add all that with keeping our dishes washed, meals prepared and animals fed ...sorry I was just too exhausted on another late night and went with the first peacoat color I clicked on.  I tried to replace it but it was already in the wee hours of the morning and I had another long day for today.  So I chose to get at least 4 hours of sleep instead of looking for another one.  I told you life gets busy.

I do hope to get the pictures up at some point in the next month of the Friends of a Feather pin cushion prize, the requested recipes for the overnight oatmeal and the salad in a jar.  Hubby and I have started back on those again, ummmm they are so good.  Turns out we really did miss them once I stopped making them, and so did our waistlines, LOL.  Those and one more Color Play Friday may be all I commit to doing this month.

I can't wait for January so I can open my new planner and start the new year, hopefully a lot will slow down for me by then.  Or at least I learn to manage it all better!  I can't wait to show my new planner and show the ones I have tried and loved or not loved over the last 10 years and why I'm using this planner again this year.  Super stoked!!

I used Moda Fabrics Palette Builder 2.1 Powered by Playcrafts to decide on my color palette for the photos.  The builder gives me a selection of Moda Bella Solids, Aurifil Threads and Hex Values for each of the photos.   Then I change them at will and play around until I found that wacky pallet that suits my mood.   I then use those selections to search for my fabric bundles.  I like finding "different" styles of fabrics.  Yes, sometimes wild, but hey, that's the beauty of loving fabric!  I'll also be using their hashtag #modapalettebuilder, per their request.  It's the least I can do to say thank you for providing a great tool.

There you have it hon!  Now please go check out the other ladies who are playing this week.  It's exciting to see the same picture from different perspectives.  If you would like to join us (that would be so awesome!) you can contact Lorinda and Trina @
colorplayfriday@gmail.com for all the details and next week's photo.
